    Part-Time EVS Tech/Housekeeper

    JOB SUMMARY
    To maintain the Surgical Center’s interior and furnishing in a clean, aseptic, and orderly fashion, promoting the recovery of our patients, and ensuring a pleasant environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.
    Reports To: Director of Nursing
    Supervises: None
    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (General requirements listed are not an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements):
    1. Cleans all areas of Center according to housekeeping/sanitation policies and procedures.
    2. Cleans operating rooms between cases and does terminal cleaning of operating rooms at the conclusion of
    the day’s schedule per housekeeping/sanitation policies and procedures.
    3. Responsible for care of all contaminated linen and trash following established guidelines.
    4. Maintains and stocks linen supply.
    5. Has knowledge of cleaning chemical names, use, and dilutions. Knows where the SDS is located and how
    to use.
    6. Informs manager of any noted malfunctioning equipment.
    7. Follows proper procedures regarding blood and body fluid precautions, handling of hazardous waste,
    sharps, and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
    8. Responsible for maintaining supplies, handling instruments and equipment in the operating rooms.
    9. Assists with cleaning the operating rooms during room turnover and stocking supplies.
    10. Clean and sanitize Center building areas following established policies and procedures to maintain the
    environment in an orderly and sanitary condition.
    11. Monitor outdates on chemicals, hand sanitizers, etc.
    12. Some additional job duties may include moving furniture, equipment, and supplies in and around center
    departments.

    6. Ability to make decisions and solve problems
    7. Able to work around unpleasant odors and illnesses.
    8. Respects patient privacy and confidentiality.
    9. Ability to flex hours to meet patient schedules and cleaning needs of the Center.
    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
    1. High school diploma or equivalent required
    2. Current BLS or obtain certification within 90 days of hire
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    1. Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
    2. Demonstrates ability to lift and/or carry heavy loads when moving equipment.
    OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE:
    1. Category III exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may encounter chemical hazards
